The first step in editing your realmlist.wtf file is to ensure that you can access file extensions.

Open the CONTROL PANEL (from the Start Menu)

Open the FOLDER OPTIONS

Click on the VIEW tab at the top of the FOLDER OPTIONS window

UN-check the "HIDE EXTENSIONS FOR KNOWN FILE TYPES"
